Happy Ever After

This "Happy Ever After Quilt" is a commission from a friend of mine.  Trudy bid on the "Once Upon a Time Quilt" that we auctioned back in March.  She wanted it for her grand-daughter, but it was snatched up by another, doting "Nana," instead.

So Trudy picked out these fabrics, and we decided that I would do the same pattern.

The fabrics are called "Happy Ever After" by Riley Blake, and aren't they so sweet?

The top panel is made up of castles, cottages, clock towers, and carriages, all sitting atop rolling hills.

The next panel is itty bitty flowers, followed by princess dresses and crowns on a pink background.

Finally, there's blue gingham (which I also used for binding), and then the lovely princesses themselves.

This pink scroll print is actually hearts!  I didn't notice this till I got the fabric in my hands, but isn't it lovely?

And Anne was a dear and did the quilting for me, again.  A lovely, edge-to-edge meander.

Trudy is still out in California enjoying time with her family, and word is, they like this quilt better than the one that Trudy originally bid on.  Phew!  That worked out nicely, eh?

The back is a nice pink minky - so very soft and cuddly!

Trudy also requested a doll quilt because her granddaughter received a new doll and crib for her birthday.  Here's what I came up with.

Unfortunately, the scraps didn't work out for there to be a princess in the bottom panel, but this little cottage with its bunting and birdie is pretty precious, if I do say so myself.

I finally remembered to photograph my own princess with the quilt...

If you like these fabrics, I have more to make a quilt for next spring's auction.  Start saving your pennies for that sweet, princess in your life!

    1. Oh yes... I was thinking about her long hair, too, and thought that if I had to pick a princess, she must be "Rapunzel." :) Glad you like the quilt!

  6. Lauren,
Did I tell you that April likes to pretend the long strip of pink scrolled material is the road to her princesses' castle? So cute! And she loves taking it in the car to cuddle, so the smaller size worked out to be perfect! Thanks so much. Trudy
