Glimma Plus Pillow

This post is actually not a sneak peek for next week's Quilt Auction.  Sorry!

It might have been, except that my husband and I both love this pillow (which is rare on his part), and it looks perfect on our bed, so I'm keeping it.  Aren't you happy for me?

After making the top of my #glimmaquilt, I had some 2.5 inch strips of fabric remaining.  So I cut them into squares, then arranged them into this "plus sign" pattern.

For the quilting, I quilted 1/4 inch from the seam inside each "plus sign."  I think it accents the pattern very nicely.

And the backing is this trusty, old Denyse Schmidt fabric.  Love it!  While I have stitched envelope-backed pillows in the past, this time around I used this tutorial from Crazy Mom Quilts.  And I must say: best pillow ever!  That doubling of the fabric and extra stitching at the stress points really make a difference.  I'm so glad to have stumbled upon that tutorial and to have had the opportunity to use it.

Don't forget: this year's Quilt Auction will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation; we're helping find cures for kids with brain cancer, like my own daughter, Charlotte.  You can read more about the need for funding and the how and why of the auction in this post.

And to check out the 20+ quilts that have been generously donated for this year's auction, click here.  Just don't forget to come back next Monday, March 31, when the auction kicks off and the bidding wars begin...

See you then!

  7. I would like to thank Ultimate Life Clinic for reversing my father's Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). My father’s ALS condition was fast deteriorating before he started on the ALS Herbal medicine treatment from Ultimate Life Clinic. He was on the treatment for just 6 months and we never thought my father will recover so soon. He has gained some weight in the past months and he is able to walk with no support. You can reach them through there website www.ultimatelifeclinic.com
